Great place to stay

Nob Hill is a great place to stay if you are traveling by auto they have covered off street parking at no charge, rooms are great. Comfortable, clean, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and the staff were teriffic. Managers have been there for 20 years and know all the best places to eat within walking distance. On a nice day you could easily walk to the waterfront within 30 minutes or you can catch a bus which is only 1/2 block away. Would stay here again. They will be remodeling the bathrooms within the next 6 months. Beds were very comfortable.

Not That Great

The room was too small, the sheets on the bed were torn, the smoke detector was broken, and the service was lacking when I had an issue with my room. I wanted to love it, I just couldn't.

Nob Hill Motor Inn

If you’re looking for a comfortable, clean, and safe place to stay when visiting the City by the Bay, I suggest the Nob Hill Motor Inn. We stayed there for a week during my wife's summer break (teacher). The service was top-notch as the couple at the front desk was more than helpful in helping us plan our days and suggest how/where to catch local public transportation. Our room had a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, wireless Internet, etc… the expected amenities. This Inn’s greatest feature was its central location to Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and downtown. Although some of the reviews have raved about the great prices, I actually paid $10 or so more than other comparable hotels because of the added perks this one provided. It turned out to be $10 well spent. My wife and I have already recommended this place to other friends traveling to San Francisco.

Highly Recommended

San Francisco is a beautiful city, but some areas are better left avoided. Luckily for us, we stayed at the Nob Hill Motor Inn and never felt unsafe because the neighborhood and surrounding areas were clean and safe. Regardless, San Francisco was great and staying at this Inn was a smart choice. It was located near all the major attractions. Free parking, great little in-room extras like a microwave and fridge - all at a reasonable rate! The service, as many reviewers have already mentioned, speaks for itself. No complaints here. This hotel comes highly recommended and for good reason.

Not So Suite

Was advised at check-in the family suite reserved was not available; bumped to different room and rate discounted $10/night. Room had a horrible, pungent cleaning smell, A/C only worked on one speed, and phone cord had short. Repair was quick but think some overall remodeling needed. Restaurants around corner on Polk Street convenient but wharf, Chinatown, and everything else a pretty long haul up some pretty good hills. Hard to find a mid-town trolley that's not already full.
