Nice stay at Hotel George

Our family of 4 stayed at the K+K Hotel George, booking 2 neighboring but not connected rooms. The hotel is just 2 blocks from the "Earl's Court" tube (subway) station. Very convenient - we rode the underground from Heathrow rather than taking a taxi, which would have been extremely expensive. The Earl's Court tube station provides access to 2 different subway lines, so it was easy to get anywhere we wanted in London in a reasonable time. A variety of restaurants are within walking distance, as are grocery/convenience stores/newstands. The staff was friendly & helpful in giving directions, booking bus tours, recommending restaurants, etc. Rooms were clean and seemed to have been updated within the last couple of years. Rooms were small as are almost all European hotels, but there was plenty of closet space & shelving. The bathrooms are extremely small - it was not possible for 2 of us to stand at the sink at the same time. However, they did have a full tub, not just a shower. The beds were not the most comfortable - mattresses a bit hard - but not the worst we've ever experienced. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast "buffet" was expensive (US$30) and not all that appealing--just the standard "English breakfast" you can get anywhere. I'm not fond of eating baked beans for breakfast, so I was content to get a coffee & bagel at Starbuck's only 1 block away. Surrounding neighborhood was generally well maintained and fairly quiet, and we felt safe at all times. Elevators are tiny and slow, but supposedly being replaced this summer. I would certainly stay here again.

Clean and Accessible Place to Stay

I stayed at the K+K George for 5 nights while visiting in London. The hotel rooms were very small but extremely clean. The beds were tiny and were not very luxurious but they served there purpose. The biggest plus about the hotel is its location. While located outside of London, the K+K George is within a block of the Earl's Court tube stop. We used the underground every day to go sightseeing in London and Westminster.

Wonderful place to stay while in London

The K & K Hotel George was a great hotel for our 5 night stay in London. Excellent location 1/2 block from Earls Court Tube Station (15 min to main attractions). 3 great mini stores around hotel for snacks/sandwiches and light bfast. Local restaurants galore so you can save some money in a very expensive city. Stayed in Twin room (2 twin beds for double occupancy). Beds are twins but room is plenty big enough for an average stay. Nice big closets. Nice space near door for jeans, sweaters, etc. Bathroom is very small and shower only has one glass door (very weird). Even with that no water reached the main floor. Just have to take a shower in a smaller space than at home. Rooms were kept very clean each day we wanted service. Only negative which wasn't really a negative is that this is a German Hotel chain so half of the channels on the TV were in German (no big deal since it was vacation) Big Negative!!!!!!!!! DON'T BUY BFAST PERIOD!!!! At current rates it's $28.00 us per person. They will entice you with a buy one get second half price coupon but don't do it. If you want the "English Bfast" visit one of the local places on Earls Court Road or do what we did. After one blah day of McDonalds (Right next to the station) we went to Sansbury's and brought some bagels and bfast pastries 2 bottles of Tropicana and were plenty filled for the day. Again if you can fit this hotel in your budget do it. It also has central Air Conditioning which was needed during last weeks "heatwave"

More than met our expectations

While not a seasoned business traveler, I have traveled to overseas several times and stayed in a variety of moderate-priced hotels. I scrutinize hotel reviews. That said, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay - yes the breakfast was expensive (ask for a deal on check-in and they will give you a 1/2 price voucher for the 2nd meal in your party), but it was delicious and a nice option for at least one of the days we were there. The desk staff was professional, courteous, and glad to help with tourist bookings. The rooms were small but perfectly adequate and neatly appointed. The bathroom was small, clean, and "euro-chic." The hotel is very convenient to the Earls Court tube stop, which put us close to everything we wished to see in London. We enjoyed being within walking distance to reasonably priced good food such as Wagamama (Japanese), Masala Zone (Indian), and MacDonald's (for a quick breakfast). We look forward to returning to London and will definitely consider the George as an option.

This hotel was very comfortable it is well located near Earls Court Tube station.
We arrived at about 11:00 am to early for check in our luggage was looked after and we toured our surroundings well we waited. Our room was ready shortly it was small by our standards but clean and efficient daily cleaning of our room .High speed Internet connection in the room was a pleasant surprise .The mini bar was well stocked but also allowed us to store our own food products.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and wide variety of food made this a great start to the day the staff was very attentive to our needs.
The lounge was clean and comfortable the reception was friendly and helpful the common areas were clean and computers where available to use.
