THE OPRAH SHOW

We lucked out with getting tickets through the Oprah website for last minute email reservations. We have never been able to connect by phone, which would has made planning this spur of the moment trip easier. It was an exciting day, and we were simply thrilled with getting to see the whole process of how everything worked.

We arrived an hour before 11am and were only the eighth people in line, which meant later our chances of picking out good seats was great. Lots of waiting involved, but we were finally seated by 12:30pm. A stage person goes over rules and breaks the ice and then more or less at 1pm, they started the show, and out walked Oprah. I was very disappointed that no theme song was played when she did.

The show was the kind we were hoping we did NOT get to see (the early morning taping was on Iraq, and we all said thank goodness that's not ours!). The topic of this show was the kidnapping of young African girls who were then kept as sex slaves! Yikes! We wanted happy and upbeat for the trip, but this just made us sad.
