I am a born and raised South-Chicagoian, and when my relatives from San Francisco CA, came to visit last week I wanted to make their first trip to the Windy City as fun and eventful as possible! We went to see Jersey Boys, had plenty of pizza, and went to the Hancock Observatory. On their last full day here we were walking along Michigan Ave. near the Water Tower Place and say a nice looking, energetic young man selling Chicago Trolley Tour Tickets! Because it was such a sunny day, and he assured us that the Trolleys were heated we decided to take the Hop-on, Hop-off tour!

It was fantastic! We were able to see the entire city while having a wonderful guide/driver! He was entertaining and joked around with everyone, especially my family because they were from San Francisco, where Trolleys were iconic!

We were able to take the trolley to Millennium Park and Saw the Museum Campus then we got off by the theaters and got our FREE Garrett’s Popcorn and made it back to the Hotel/Drake before they finished for the day!

Even being from Chicago, it is not often that I take time and really try to enjoy it and learn about my city! We all had a wonderful experience and fully enjoyed the tour. Whenever I have friends or family come to the city I will recommend Chicago Trolley Tours to them!

I had the best time on the Chicago Trolley and Double Decker tour! On top of a Double Decker is the only way to see the city. My elderly father had come to visit, and we were looking for convenient ways to sightsee around the city that would minimize the amount of walking he had to do. This tour was the perfect fit! Not only does it stop at all the attractions that we wanted to explore all day long, but also the drivers and guides were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They tours that we got were highly entertaining and suitable for every age in our group. I would definitely recommend a trip on the Chicago Trolleys and Double Deckers!

I live here in Chicago and, this past weekend, my parents came to visit. Usually when they visit, I try to show them around myself and I spout off what facts I know or can make up about various landmarks around town. This time, we decided to actually take a real tour since I had heard a lot of great things about the Chicago Trolley Company. I had been on the Trolleys before for private events and thought I would try out their downtown tour.

We bought our tickets online in advance which was a nice option and even saved us some money since they offer an online discount. And since their tour allows you to hop on and hop off at all of the main sights downtown we thought that it would be a great way to get around downtown without having to worry about parking or taking cabs everywhere.

Our tour guide on our Double Decker was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the city but he was also extremely witty and entertaining; so much so that we decided to stay on board for a full tour before we hopped off at Navy Pier for lunch. My mom enjoyed the tour so much that she still talks about it and when she comes back to visit we plan on taking the tour again!

My friends and I decided to drive down to Chicago from our homes in Wisconsin for the Memorial Day Weekend. We got into town early Friday morning and decided that the best way to start out our weekend would be to take a tour of the city. We were told by our concierge that we could pick up the tours at the Sears Tower, so we set out to start our adventure.
When we got to the Sears Tower, we noticed that there were, in fact, two separate tour companies that picked up in front of the Skydeck entrance. Our first impressions of the two companies were very different. On one hand, there was the Chicago Trolley and Double Decker company, they had two new and expensive looking ticket booths staffed by some very sharp looking young people in clean white shirts with bright red vests. On the other hand, the competition was Grey Line. Their booth looked as though it had just washed up on shore somewhere. Their lone sales person was not a little bit disturbing. When comparing the two tour companies, the Grey Line representative continually bothered us and babbled on and on, whereas the Chicago Trolley sales agents were very helpful and polite. It goes with out saying that we chose the latter.
Our tour started aboard a double-decker vehicle. The driver introduced herself as Cassandra and was very pleasant. We then went up stairs where our tour guide, Walt, introduced himself to us and asked us where we were from. After a little good natured ribbing about the Brewers and Packers, our tour began. Walt was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and hilarious! If only my college professors were this entertaining! We rode with Walt and Cassandra until the Field Museum, where we got off to explore.
When we finished at the Field Museum, we headed back out to the tour stop. We were not waiting more than about ten minutes when another bus pulled up to pick us up. Again, the driver (I think her name was Sheila) was very nice as we boarded and found some seats on the upper level. Our new tour guide, Lorenzo, introduced himself to us in a voice that makes James Earl Jones sound like Betty Boop. Just like Walt, Lorenzo was very informative and witty with the added bonus of the coolest voice I’ve ever heard.
Very simply, our time with the Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Co. was fantastic! I highly recommend them and will certainly use their company the next time I visit Chicago!

My wife and I have lived in Chicago’s western suburbs most of our lives. We thought we had seen the city from all of its most fantastic perspectives. We were wrong!

One recent hot May morning, my wife and I decided to hop on the Metra train and head down to the great city of Chicago. We had no itinerary, and that’s how we like it.

Once off the train, we headed over to the magnificent Sears Tower where we were pleasantly surprised to meet a young man selling tour tickets for Chicago Trolley Company. For $25 each, we were able to not only enjoy a tour, we were able to use the service to get around the city all day as the ticket was good for ‘hop on hop off’ services. We were able to ride both the trolleys and the double decker buses. Perfect! What an awesome way to see Chicago without having to pay for cabs! We signed up.

The trolley hit every hot spot we wanted to see and then some. After enjoying some touring we decided to ‘hop off’ at the Art Institute stop. We got out there to venture into the Poster Plus store and, of course, my wife insisted on purchasing some historical posters. They will always remind us of our day of touring. For our second stop, we were thrilled to be taken to the Field Museum. We hadn’t been since we started dating years ago. We ran around like it was our first time there. It is always good to visit Sampson.

We continued on with our tour and were able to ‘hop off’ at some of the other stops so we could get some lunch and even walk around Navy Pier. At the stop near the historic Water Tower we ‘hopped off’ again to redeem our coupon at the Hershey store for a free, full-size Hershey bar. What an afternoon treat! I never knew there was a Hershey store in Chicago.

While we ‘hopped on, hopped off’ both the trolleys and double decker buses our ticket allowed us to ride, we were both educated and entertained by the tour guides who provided the facts as well as their own tidbits about the city. One of the tour guides even advised the passengers they would be supplied rain ponchos on the double decker if it started to rain. Educational, entertaining, and great customer service! What an experience! Make sure you ride with the Chicago Trolley Company.
