Description
This fascinating little museum, housed in an old building in New York's Chinatown, features exhibits of photographs, clothing, musical instruments and memorabilia reflecting the Chinese emigration and immigration experience. Formerly known as the Chinatown History Museum, it has been in operation since 1980. The complex societal structure of 19th century China, the bewildering new world that confronted immigrants, and the rampant discrimination they faced are all depicted.
Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for seniors and students; children under 12 are free. Cash only.
