One of the "musts" in Sofia is the XIII century church, a fine example of Bulgarian middleage architecture, which is on UNESCO's List of Hertiages of Humanity. After 38 years again available for tourists.
OPEN tue-sun 7.00-17.00 (20 Leva - 3/5/02)
Inside of the church you can see frescos representing tzar (emperor) Constantin Asen and his wife Iryna. No photos inside (of course). Guides are waiting at cash desk. Visiting of the church possible only in small groups. Sometimes it is necessary to wait a bit for your turn.
To get there is not easy. Not bad idea to take a taxi. Even local people asked where is the Bojana Church cannot give you directions (however it is one of the main monuments of the country). We went there by rented car and we wasted an hour looking for the Bojana church, but it was worth finding!
