- If it were not for friends living on this tropical island located off the far north of Malaysia's west coast I probably would never have thought to visit, but for a relaxing beach destination that also offers the chance for a little sightseeing Langkawi is a perfect choice!
It is a verdant island with white, sandy beaches, brilliant aqua waters, steep forested mountains, and emerald green rice paddies dotted with traditional "kampungs".
