This hotel is exceptional value for money. Our room was a standard double (no view except of the street below) and was immaculate. The bed was large - two singles pushed together - with good lighting throughout the room as well as a small table, large desk and chair and credenza with minibar. Slippers provided for each guest as well as a safe for valuables. Extra pillows and blankets were provided in the wardrobe to allow you to be more comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful and the breakfast was excellent with a variety of hot and cold selections. Toast, yoghurt, eggs bacon, cheese, cold meats, pastry and juice all proved in a large and bright dining room buffet setting. We paid 60 GBP a night - very reasonable for the quality we experienced.

Hotel Calzaiuoli

My husband and I stayed in the Double Superior room at the Hotel Calzaiuoli in Florence, Italy. The room was very large, even by European standards, and also included a sitting room. The hotel is ideally located next to the Duomo and only a short distance from the train station. We even had a view of the Duomo from our hotel windows. What really makes this hotel special is the fantastic breakfast room with excellent options available. It was the best hotel breakfast that we've had in Europe!
