La Concha is defi0nitely in need of some updating, but we loved it here. The hotel was almost deserted this particular windy week, so we just sat in beach chairs and read or slept the time away. We came to dive, but we weren't disappointed... we needed the break away. We were in position on the empty beach, with drink in hand for the sunset, 3 or 4 hours early and we stayed in the same chairs until almost 9pm or 10pm each night. The bartenders became our friends and they helped us with our Spanish... and they would even sit with us, and smoke cigars with my husband. We were upgraded into a suite for free because the place was almost empty. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place was clean enough. The restaurant has a full menu of Mexican fare, but it wasn't really that impressive. We still enjoyed the atmosphere though and took our meals there almost every day. We were very fond of the cat that would hang around waiting for food. The pool looked pretty dirty, but it was too windy to swim. We figured that was why it hadn't been cleaned. La Concha will definitely have to update to stay competitive, but it is one of the few places on the beach in La Paz. It is a LONG walk to the malecon (boardwalk) in town, but we did it each day. Cab fare is pretty cheap. We will stay there again... but when it isn't quite so windy so can dive... after all, that is why we came.

The resort was on the beach, had its own dock, very nice rooms, swimming pool, bar by the pool, restaurant and grounds. The facility was well-maintained.

This is not an advertisement for my condo. However, I bought this place because I fell in love with La Paz and the La Concha Condominiums. I have over 2800 square feet on two levels and the condominium users enjoy exclusive use of the condo pool and Jacuzzi, as well as all of the resort facilities, including room service.

Spectacular! All rooms with ocean view, small patio/balcony, AC. East at a terrific restaurant, order tropical drinks from the excellent poolside bar. Tan at a well kept, medium sized pool or great beach with umbrellas and good snorkeling opportunities. Discover adventures on the Sea of Cortes through the attached Cortez Club (scuba/fishing etc.). Also onsite tour bookings (4wd trips etc.) and pick up/drop off from airport.
