Best Things Nearby:
The beach was nice. We rode on a cable cart that took us to the top of a mountain and there was a big tall Christ (similar to the one in Brazil). Nice flowers and vegetation. Snorkling is fun!! We also took a day trip on 4 wheel motorcycles. We went buggyboard. It was supper. Also we enjoyed a safari and we took a day trip to Haiti.

Best Things About the Resort:
Swimming Pool was very good. We enjoyed it very much after coming back from our day trips. Transportation was very inexpensive and easy. The resort is located on the top of a little mountain and you walk up to the street and many vans go up and down to the city town. The people at the resort were very friendly and helped us to organize our day trips.

Resort Experience:
The Tropicana Sur Resort is a place where the owners need to be more efficient about keep-up. Actually, you don't feel like you are in a resort; you feel like you are in a renting apartment with just the basic ammenities. There are more tenents than RCI units. It was not very clean. It did not have enough kitchen utensiles: maybe some cups and a few dishes. Cooking pans were not available. The a/c was in the bedroom but my boys were staying in the living room and the a/c did not cool the living room at all. The towels were so old that they did not dry. The electricity will go off every afternoon and also the water so you have to wait for it to come back so you could take a shower.

Thanks, to the people from the resort that helped us organize day trips and we did not have to spend all day in that resort. Actually, when you arrived to that resort, they tell you to go to another resort to enjoy the ammenities of a real resort.

There is not a phone in the units. The phone is located in a "used to be pool bar" and the security guard answered the phone and let us know of a phone call. We received a phone call because one of our day trips got cancelled.

In spite of all this, employees always tried to help as they could. We tried to stay all day out and just go to sleep in the unit.
