The Wharf

This is the second year we stayed here during March. The weather was absolutely perfect, as were the accommodations. During our stay here last year, we made a comment about our unit needing new carpet, and this time it had it. In fact, there have been many repairs and maintenance which has helped make the Wharf even better. The staff is and has always been great and the location makes this place very accessible. A lakeside unit is the way to go. Our unit was a Gold Crown two-bedroom, two-bath condominium (one bath has a six-foot whirlpool tub) with a full kitchen, two cable TVs and wood-burning fireplaces. Some of the features are:
Kitchenette
Hot Tub / Jacuzzi
Directly On Lake Hamilton
Free Local Calls
Air Conditioned
AM/FM Clock/Radio in Rooms
Cable Television
Outdoor Heated Pool
Fireplace

Best Things Nearby:
Close, but not nearby: shopping & shopping mall; downtown (about 10 mins); Oaklawn Park (about 6-7 mins)

Best Things About the Resort:
Pleasant place, especially in unit on the lakeside; very clean and well-kept; easy to get to.

Resort Experience:
We have stayed at hotels in town but decided to try other locations and the Wharf was great. Easy access to town using 4 lane streets. We went in late winter/early spring so the resort was not real active.

Great place. Very clean but needs to work on better mattresses and either cleaning carpet better or replacing it. Otherwise the unit was very "fresh and clean".

Staff was/is great, very friendly, very helpful and cooperative.

Best Things Nearby:
Right on Lake Hamilton /Horse races / CRYSTAL COLLECTING / looking for diamonds / Friendly people / Lots of restaurants / LOOKING FOR COOL CRYSTALS.

Best Things About the Resort:
Modern, clean, spacious, and friendly employees.

Resort Experience:
Three stories with an elevator. Not too big, very comfy but not fancy, and limited amenities, but really nice anyway. I would love to stay there again, we're going back in April (two years later) but the Wharf was not available. Collecting crystals was wonderful...we travel three or four times a year, and this was really fun entertainment and they made great gifts.

Best Things Nearby:
Right on huge lake, ten minute drive into downtown Hot Springs.

Best Things About the Resort:
Clean, lakefront, spacious, and nice managers.

Resort Experience:
There's a number of stories, half direct lakefront, and the others are very close. Not fancy but really comfortable and would love to stay there again. A small pool, boat rentals off grounds, and a small tennis area. I would not choose it for its amenities, but rather for the lovely location and large, clean units.
