It was about 9pm and we had no dinner reservations. We were in the area of the Eglise de la Madeleine and saw this pretty little restaurant. It looked full, but the friendly staff seated us right away. I started out with the Gratinee a l'oignon. After all, it was my first trip to Paris, but it was the Blanquette de Veau, served in a copper pot, that was so good it nearly brought me to tears. Honestly, it really was THAT GOOD!!! The ambience was lovely, and the walls were covered with historic Paris ephemera and photos of French celebrities. The place was full of locals, so it is definitely not a tourist place. What a lovely evening!!
