Smugglers Notch State Park

If you hike this area, be careful that you follow ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Hiking levels are from the inexperienced to advanced with climbing. Maps and charts are available at the park and Smugglers Notch Resort. If you decided to go for the advance hike, for safety's sake, make sure others know your route.

For the inexperienced hiker, it will still take some effort at the higher levels. You should be in shape and allow some time to explore. Have a great time, take your camera and lots of water. As always, be prepared in case the weather changes.

The mountains make hiking through this resort and in this area amazing. There are beginner’s routes and very advanced routes to choose from. You can also drive to Stowe and do walking tours through the town and along many paths.

We spent a fabulous week at the West Hill Condominiums at Smuggler’s Notch Ski Resort in December of 2003. The accommodations were outstanding, with comfortable rooms and wonderful restaurants. Every room has a gas fireplace, which is very welcome after a day on the slopes.

The village of Smugglers Notch is nestled between three mountains, which make up the ski area. Each mountain has a unique personallity, from beginners' trails on Morse to the double black diamond expert trails of Madonna. The staff is exceptionally friendly and really live up to their motto ("We want you back").

Great ski programs. The kids took two days of all-day ski camp and had great results. My wife and I took group lessons to refresh ourselves because it had been several years since we had skied and neither of us had been on the newer curved skis before.

They gave free equipment rentals for active duty military. This old soldier really appreciated that.
