Description: Being a serviced apartment located right in the heart of Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 15, within walking distance to Asoke BTS and MRTA Station, this hotel is generally a good place to stay.
Asia Bookstore, road side stalls, Massage parlours, Money Changer, Robinson Department Store and McDonalds are right in front of the main road while cafés and shops are all around the corner. There is no down moment in Sukhumvit, whenever you walk back/walk out the hotel!
A small compound, which has limited occupancy, it offers a quiet environment that blends in with charming decorations. Low density also means that hotel staffs pay more attention to you when customers are in need of information and assistance.
The room is spacious, equipped with water boiler, coffee amenities, a large refrigerator, and microwave, which is unusual in Asia. Its bathroom is another surprise as it is huge. It has 2 basins, a bath tub and a shower, which provides very comfortable condition to take a shower after a long day of shopping!
Breakfast is served from 6am to 10am, in a small lounge. It offers great varieties of western and eastern food in the morning, from bacon, toast to noodle and tropical fruits. If you are heading for an early day tour that normally picks you up at 6.30am, you can still afford to have a great breakfast before hopping into the van.
On the other hand, the room has cable TV with more than 30 over channels from the world, in-house movie as well as a DVD player and CD player. Basically, it's like a room at home, where you can listen to your own music, sip tea and read a book at the long sofa!
Only shortcomings:
1. The swimming pool is small and it's indoor! But then again, it might no be an essential in Bangkok while most of the time is spent out of the hotel either for massage, spa, or shopping.
2. The lane of Sukhumvit Soi 15 is very busy and always congested with traffics from both way. Thus walking to the train station and walking back from the station is very much a skilled challenge where you need to walk on small curb, sometimes on the road side, at the same time to watch out for traffics on the both side.
Friendly Tip:
Go have lunch or dinner at Yong Lee Restaurant, right at the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 15. It's over 100 years old, serving very delicious Thai, Chinese, and Western Food. Lunch time is crowded with local working executives from around, so go at odd hours to avoid disappointment. Menus are in Thai and English, don't worry about not knowing how to order nice Thai food.
