Overview

The boat taxi from Belize City to San Pedro was gorgeous. Although you can take a flight to San Pedro and be there within 20 minutes, the boat taxi ride is worth it. It took almost two hours, but the boats go amazingly fast and the ride is smooth. You get to see how beautiful the Caribbean can be and the layout of the island. You feel like you are going to the end of the earth! Imagine taking a water taxi every day to work instead of the subway!

Quick Tips:

Since you spend a lot of time doing nothing here, your best bet is bring a deck of cards, some good books, and a some beach games like frisbee or paddle ball. You can also have a lot of fun playing with the neighboring beach dogs who snooze under the lawn chairs.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around this tiny three mile long island is walking. A lot of visitors rent golf carts, but you can walk just as fast. Or maybe that's because I am from New York City and used to the speed walking.

"Beach huts" located about one mile south of the center of San Pedro. Each room came with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Clean and comfy, the rooms had a rustic beach feel.

The best part about this hotel was their beach. They had the most spacious spot on the island. The other hotels' beaches could not compare! A bar that sat right in the center of the hotel had the friendliest bartender named Douglas who made us some bad ass pina coladas! Here's their website. The photos do NOT do this place justice!!
