Iberville Suites Reviews

910 Iberville Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70112

Featured Review : On the surface, The Iberville Suites has an upscale feel to it. It's not "old world," like so many other historical hotels in the French Quarter. It's much more contemporary than that. And when one first enters, there is...See Full Review

  • Wonderful Hotel with no hot water

Quote: This hotel is closed to the action, shares some facilities with the Ritz and is priced right. Clean large rooms, frinedly staff and only one problem. No hot water. We were on the top floor and I would bet it is consistent. Four showers and only one warm, with a minute of actual hot water. It took 2 full inutes to get from freezing cold to luke warm. Fix the water system and this hotel deserves 5 stars. I will stay here again and ask for a lower floor.

  • PUBLIC AREAS NICE, ROOMS NOT SO MUCH

Quote: Great location, very nice public areas and excellent services because of the Ritz Carlton connection, but my Queen room, while technically a suite, was NYC-small and the furniture shabby. Hotel was quiet and well-run, quite a bargain for rate I paid (especially since I was only staying one night and travelling alone). Free breakfast was adequate, but you should be eating down the street at Brennan's for breakfast anyway.

  • Iberville Manager and desk staff- rude and poorly trained

Quote: Upon checkout, the hotel tried to charge almost $100 more than the total rate I'd booked with online travel website. The desk clerk and manager both insisted that online travel website reservations are ALWAYS pre-paid. Since they had no record of pre-payment from online travel website, I would be charged the rack rate. I knew I had NOT pre-paid, and I had to spend about 1/2 hour arguing with the manager about this. The manager and desk clerk both insisted I MUST have called in a second reservation which came in through a different telephone reservations system - not online travel website. I told them repeatedly that I never called in a reservation and never spoke to anyone. I told them I made the reservation online ONCE with online travel website, and I did NOT have to prepay. Fortunately, I had printed out all the pages from my reservation. I found the page that said, "You will not be charged by online travel website" This finally convinced the manager to honor my rate, but the desk clerk and manager of the Iberville Suites were extremely rude and delayed my entire party from departing for the airport. After correcting their mistake, the manager and the desk clerk both had to be prompted to offer an apology for their rudeness and for the inconvenience. Apparently this hotel isn’t educated regarding the ALL terms of their relationship with online travel website, and my reservation had to provide them with this learning experience. If I hadn’t had my 3-page printed reservation with terms and conditions in my possession, I would’ve been stuck overpaying about $100 more. After a very pleasant stay, this experience left my entire party with an extremely negative opinion of this hotel and staff. The hotel clearly needs to understand how to handle ALL arrangements - pre-paid or NOT pre-paid!

Quote: It took me a while to find the lobby, and one must ride two different elevators to reach the street, but it's worth it. The suite was fine: not luxurious but clean and practical. The sofa bed converts the sitting room into a second bedroom for children or a third guest... Good for those who know their way around the Quarter and are looking for good value.
