Featured Review : This was our first stay at a Sofitel property and we enjoyed it immensely. Snagging a room larger than a broom closet, not reported to have bed bugs, strategically located and priced reasonably can be a tall order. We sta...See Full Review

Quote: We were put in a queen room when we were booked for a king room. The hotel did not want to help and just shrugged with our complaints. They took no responsibility whatsoever and just wanted us out of the hotel. The general manager, F S, told me not to contact him again because there was nothing he could or would do to help. Management is horrible at this hotel. Even when we checked in the person at the front desk didn't even tell us he was putting us in a queen room instead of a king room. We had to call and complain. Only then did they do something. They have an attitude of not helping the guests and hoping that just doing enough is good enough for their guests. Not worth the attitude and the unhelpful staff for the money. There are much better and much more updated hotels in NYC.

Quote: We stayed for 2 nights at the Sofitel in NYC. The room was comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom. We were on the 16th floor but had no view, except other buildings. Although we expected to see something of the city from the 16th floor, it wasn't that big a deal where we would have wanted to change rooms. Every staff member was very friendly and always very helpful when we asked. The corridor on the 16th floor was very warm though. I don't know if the corridors on all the floors were not air conditioned but it was very noticeable. Overall very good experience. Would definitely stay there again.

Quote: The hotel was located in a good central "Manhattan" location. Within walking distance to Times Square, the Theatre District, 5th Ave shops etc. The hotel was nice. The bell men are very attentive. The rooms, with turndown service nightly, were always clean. The toiletries were Loccitane (which are my favorite) The hotel was very full (according to management), so even though I was registered for a Luxury King (which is a bit larger than Deluxe King), it was on the 9th floor, which had "no" view. That was the only downer of the trip. The beds were great, the soaking tub and separate shower were awesome. The bathroom had speakers, which allowed for a great relaxing soak. The Fitness room was average, with fruit, and a water cooler, there were not any "wet" areas. The one restaurant, did not have a vast menue. Overall this was a good "first" visit to NY, staying at a good Hotel.
