Quote: The location was good. The staff was pleasant. Continental breakfast was good. Enjoyed the pool. Liked the "veranda" attached to my room. Next time, I'll ask for a room overlooking the pool or the ocean.

Quote: This hotel advertised 2 on-site restaurants. The only place they had that you could eat at was the Cheekie Hut at the pool area and the complimentary breakfast bar. There were signs up around the pool area that it was open to patrons only, but on Sunday local families arrived and their children were running around between the chairs which was very inconsiderate. There were ants in the rooms and we even saw a snake crawl in the pool area. The staff was helpful, however. We were quite disappointed with this hotel. The hotel was very near the airport and one museum but nothing else was close by.

Quote: My family has stayed at the Key Ambassador many times--both back in the 70s before remodeling and now in the 90s and 00s. The stays seem to continue to improve each and every year. Yes, it is a hike to downtown but scooters, bikes, trollies, and cabs are available. And yes, the parking for those who drive is atrocious. However, once that obstacle is overcome, the rest of the experience is great.

The overall helpfulness of the staff makes a great stay even greater. One cannot praise Kate (day boss lady) enough for the way she goes far out of her way to make each and every person feel as if s/he is the only person staying at the motel. Each staff member goes beyond the call of duty to make each and everyone feel welcome.

We are counting the days until we can return and enjoy another day in Paradise.

Quote: We stayed at the Key Ambassador Sept 2 thru the 6th and unfortunately had to leave two days early due to Hurricane Ike. The hotel room (king with queen sofa) was very comfortable and clean. The hotel grounds and pool area were very nice and clean. The pool was exceptional with a great view of the ocean. During our visit, we found the hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located approximately 1 to 1 1/2 miles from the downtown area. The hotel is a trolley/bus stop. We opted for a rental car, but you can expect all day parking to run around 10 to 15 dollars per day in the downtown area. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at the Key Ambassador and plan on returning next spring.
