  • Not what I expected

Quote: We were disappointed with the hotel. We expected it to be right on Lake Champlain, but it is actually a street over, although we had a nice view of the lake from our hotel room. The vanity area is small and it was difficult to have adequate room for all of our personal hygiene items. There was a safe in the room, which was a nice feature. When we arrived, we expected a refirgerator and a microwave but had neither. They brought a refrigerator but it was not functional, so we had to call for a replacement. The staff was prompt in their responses. The room was not very clean. We found a plastic beverage bottle behind one of the beds and there was a sock (not ours) behind the bed. When we expressed concern about the lack of cleanliness, the issue was addressed and our room was then thoroughly cleaned. We paid $10 per night to park our rental car. Upon return one evening, we had difficulty locating a parking space. When we questioned the lack of space we were told that it is a city garage and they did not actually have space available only for hotel guests. The restaurant, 60 Battery, was excellent. Our waiter, Bernardo, was very efficient and friendly. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, always responding promptly to concerns, but they have some room for improvement at the hotel. I am confident they will work on the areas that need improvement because they have the right attitude about addressing issues of concern. It would be good if they identify areas that need improvement before guests arrive.

Quote: The room was ok, we overlooked the roof tops of other buildings, parking was confusing, finding our room from the parking garage was a very long walk. The room was nice. There was no hot water, only warm, during my shower the water went completely off 3 times, then came back ice cold!! The shower area was dark and dreary and needed work. I called the front desk, they were polite, offered to move me to another room, but I was checking out in half and hour. The telephone check out system was busy for the 15 minutes I tried to check out, I gave up and had to call the front desk again to check out. I'm not going back to Hilton, this is the 3rd time we've stayed there and each time there is always something not working etc...

Quote: I had high expectations of this place and was let down. This was just a quick five day shopping layover and I thought it was going to be much better. Housekeeper left trash in room, tub wasnt cleaned and I had the same sheets the whole stay. The beds were made so that was a bonus in my book. I did not like the pillows, they were too flat. All in all, I expected so much more. They need to step up on their game!

Quote: This hotel is located right next to the lake and is very nicely decorated. I was a little confused about how to get back and forth to my car in the parking garage which is separate. Overall the staff was very helpful and gracious, the location was great, walk to shops and dining and about 3 minutes drive to UVM. Only surprise was the very large beautiful headboards (both) needed dusting. I would still definately stay there again.

Quote: The hotel is under renovation and things were a mess. First room given was replaced at our request due to problems, second room was better, but still needed a call to the staff for a repair to a broken window!
