Quote: The staff was very helpful with details for us. The beds were so very comfortable, which is always my biggest worry. Yes, there's a hill but big woop, unless you're in a wheelchair (and we're pushing 60). We took the local bus to Sausalito for the day and the ferry back. It was fabulous. We rode the cable car, which is just steps away from the hotel, to Fisherman's Wharf. We walked through Chinatown and had a lovely sandwich and drinks just oiutside the Chinatown entrance. Just around the corner from the Orchard there's a cafe for any meal and half way down the block is a kereoke bar. We were so very happy with everything and will stay there again next time.

Quote: The location is wonderful, just off Union Square. Take BART from the airport and get off at Powell Street. From there you just walk uphill a bit. We had a very quiet room on the 10th floor, a big room for a San Francisco hotel. And we had a nice view. The staff was very courteous. The room was very clean, but the carpet had obviously seen better days, which was a small price to pay for the good room rate. Nice toiletries and bed linens. We slept like logs.

Quote: Just a half block away from the cable car and a block and a half to China Town. Lots of restaurants near by. We felt safe walking and took advantage of the Muni passes. The room was large and very nice. It was extremely quiet. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. There is a wonderful little "Cable Car Cafe" around the corner with very reasonable and large servings. Would recommend this to friends.

Quote: Stayed 5 nites in Jan 2009 at the Orchard. I have stayed in SF CA before, many times, but this was a great trip. The Orchard is so easy to travel about town. The Hotel is on a cable car line, a short 3 blk walk to entrance to Chinatown, a longer 6 blks to the Market/Powell transportation hub (cable car, street car, BART and bus) Union Square shopping/retail. The Sir Francis Drake hotel, with the Scalla bistro run by someone on Food Network Chef challenge. Great frites. 2 blks from Sears Fine Foods, check out the French toast or the Swiss Pancakes. Great ""French"" cafe, LePresse a short 3 blks away down Bush. Short, 10 blk walk to North Beach with great Italian food, Calzones, and the Stella Bakery, Room was wonderful, quiet, clean, big bathroom, fantastic bed. I have slept on the Westin Heavenly bed, this bed was better. Did I say QUIET room wow. Some cable car noise, but not much. A smaller room, but certainly bigger than NYC Hotels. Plenty of room for the 2 of us. Had a great time visiting MOMA, the deYoung museum in Golden Gate Park, Fisherman Wharf, North Beach, Pier 39, the Ferry building, Ghiradelli Square, the Chieftain Bar, Coit tower and finally NOPA a restuarant on Divisadero. Wonderful Pork Chop. Staff was great. We arrived on a Wednesday nite, with Bob the doorman taking our luggage and giving us a great dining tip to the Beldin Alley with Tiuramasu's Cafe. The front desk got us a copy of SF Guardian, and the other SF weekly that lists events Wed to Tues. Laptop at the front desk allows you to ditch your Laptop and just check emails via theirs. Finally check out the Cioppino at theTadish Grill . Jeff

Quote: We arrived in San Francisco early. We did not expect the room to be ready upon our arrival at 11 AM but we were quite surprised that it was. The room was clean and neat. Free Wi-Fi . Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definately stay here again.
