Sad Holiday Inn Express

This is a sad place. The rooms are in bad need of a re-do. Furnishings are about 100 years old and run-down, pool and spa has been out for the last couple of visits, breakfast doesn't look fresh, only have yogart. There is not many choices in the area to stay, but there is a Hampton Inn that looks almost done. I can't wait. Oh, the people are nice here, but there is nothing for them to do, so no sense complaining.

Fun stay

We traveled to Grover Beach to get away from the city for a few days over the new years eve. We liked our stay here. Is well located to not only cover the grover beach area but also the surrounding SLO area. Room was clean. It was unusually laid out though (lobby was separate from the room buildings). The bed was just great. I haven't slept like I did for ages. They didn't have a fitness facility though.

Housekeeping stole from us

Bad experience. Our room had several problems. The fireplace would'nt work & they said they would discount our room, but upon checkout then said they couldn't because the discount would go to our online travel website & not to us. The cable reception on the T.V. was TERRIBLE, lines running thru the movie channels that made it unwatchable. They power on one wall kept switching off & reseting the alarm clock. Housekeeping stole a sizeable piece of luggage (with my x-mas gifts) and a cell phone charger plugged in to the vanity when we left. Had they had the courtesy to put them aside or notified us, I could have retrieved my items that same day. I called the next day and housekeeping said they found nothing in the room, but would "keep an eye out". No apologies, no resolution. I will be pursuing the matter with management or franchise owners. I would not stay here. Even putting the room problems aside, they have dishonest employees and I am disgusted.

Nice location

Rooms were nice and beds were comfortable. Either the hotel is new or was recently remodeled. Location is nearby restaurants and a shopping center. Easy access to nearby 101 freeway but without the usual noise. Good value if visiting Pismo Beach area and want to stay at a nice hotel but without the extra price. The only problem I saw was the swimming pool is small and a good walking distance from the rooms, but is gorgeous, is a heated pool, and is very clean and well maintained.

The beds and pillows were wonderful! Extremely clean rooms and comfortable beds. The television was horrible. Over half the channels had static through them so watching a show was impossible. HBO was not even viewable to catch a movie at night. Otherwise, good stay!
