This was our first time we visited Stowe in May and it was a wonderful time for a vacation. We had beautiful weather and since the peak season had not officially begun, we didn't have problems with crowds! Stowe truly is shedding it's image as a winter destination.

Stratton Mountain is one of the best places to ski or snowboard in New England! It's a family oriented resort, and the snow conditions this year have been great! Stratton earned a Gold Medal for grooming and Silver Medals for Lifts, Services, and Dining in Ski Magazines 2000 Reader Survey. Stratton Mountain is the "birthplace" of snowboarding (Jake Burton would test his prototypes at night in early 80's) and his home to the U.S. Open for Snowboarding every year in March.
