Portobelo Panama - A Superstitious Town

Portobelo is a superstitious town due to the Black Christ located in the center of town. It also home to three different forts that helped to defend the town from pirates such as Henry Morgan. Tourists come here for the history and to dive and swim the crystal blue waters.

There is a wealth of history surrounding Panama City with its many skyscrapers and shopping malls. Panama Viejo, founded in 1519, was the original city and after it was destroyed, gave way to Casco Viejo in 1673. However, the Panama Canal draws more tourists than both of these combined.
