South America is not Asia; it is less user-friendly and offers less quality for more money. Yet, it probably is one of the most fascinating areas in the world, offering islands floating in the skies, beaches at various altitudes and some of the most beautiful mountains in the world.

You wouldn't think that visiting Buenos Aires during a sanitation strike would leave me with the feeling that Buenos Aires is "bueno", but overlooking the piles of trash in the streets was doable in this easily walkable, friendly, vibrant city.

Transportation within the city is good. The subway system is fast and reasonably priced and is easy for the visitor to use. Buses crisscross the city but the problem is knowing which route goes where. Taxis are easily recognised, relatively cheap and generally safe.

During this trip I visited the capital, Yacyreta, one of the largest hydroelectric projects in the world, Empedrado, and the cities of Resistencia and Formosa in nearby provinces. I am also adding information on Bella Vista, which I visited two years ago. I really enjoyed this trip.
