A November 2006 trip to Bradenton Beach by rlathom

Relaxing week on the beach.

Anna Maria island is very laidback, yet is only minutes from the mainland of Bradenton/Sarasota and beyond that Tampa. There are few attractions on the island but that was the attraction for us. The beaches are wonderful: white, sugary sand, and wide. You can walk from the north tip to the south tip of the island on the unobstructed beach.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

There is a free trolley (bus) that runs every day from morning to night at 30 minute intervals. Off island you will need a car.
This is an older timeshare but well-maintained. The kitchen was very well furnished. There are no planned activities so you are on your own. The mainland is a few minutes away with lots of things to do. We were looking for a place away from the bustle. Anna Maria island is such a place yet it has all the amenities you need.
