High winds precluded us from diving or fishing this particular week, but we had a wonderful lazy week in an almost deserted beachfront resort.

We wanted to see the whales in San Ignacio Lagoon, but that didn't work out. But we had a great time driving almost 400 miles through Ensenada and Rosario to Bahia de Los Angeles, getting a good look at both coasts and the mountains.

Rosarito is a frequent stop for Mexican Riviera cruises. Those who only give it a few hours only see the endless shops of cheap wares and taco stands.

I spent a month traveling around Baja during Christmas and New Years. While the coast was beautiful I found accommodations and dining out quite expensive. Also all activities were a lot more expensive than we had budgeted for. Another downside was there was no nightlife, often we were the only two people in a bar at 9pm!
