I went to Cusco twice on business, and on one of those trips, fortunately, my flight to Juliaca was cancelled and I was able to make it to Machu Picchu. But what impressed me more was the Sacsayhuaman Inca fortress, just outside the city.

Trapped? Yes, in a way. We're a bit ancient to do the Inca Trail, so we were in Cusco while the rest of the group did it. Then we meant to meet them, but read on.
