The collected ramblings of a July spent crossing Bolivia, from the border town of Villazon in the south to Copacabana on Lake Titicaca in the north-west. High and low, hot and cold - a whistlestop tour of a fascinating nation.

I expected something beautiful, but this was more. Green, red, and blue lakes, volcanos, strange animals, and very quiet surroundings. It`s one big picture, a scene from Planet of the Apes or another science fiction movie. But also cold, windy, and hard to breath. It`s a very strange but beautiful place.

Leaving Tupiza to catch the Salar trip, we saw more of the incredible landscape of southwest Bolivia and two days without seeing other tourists on this heavily trafficked tourist route.

A three-day jeep trip to the most unexpected sights I've ever seen, a journey of constant wonder.
