- We arrived in Aviemore by train after traveling through spectacular countryside from London. ScotRail was well equipped with dining and other facilities to make our trip enjoyable.

- Elegant Georgian buildings, heather covered fields, the majestic Cairngorms, and the winding Spey River combine to make Aviemore a place worth visiting. Aviemore is the largest town in the Cairngorm mountain range, and we used it as our base for exploring the highlands.

- This is the journal of my honeymoon to Scotland. Neither of us had ever been out of the country before, first time for everything!

- The a-frame building had two upstairs bedrooms, but only one with an attached bathroom. There was another full bathroom downstairs, along with a full kitchen and living-dining room. We had rabbits each day outside the siding patio door. The Hilton Hotel had free music each evening in the lounge area.

- We had a lovely trip via train up through the scenic mountains of Scotland. Traveling with teenagers in tow was no vacation, however, since castles were not their cup of tea.

- Scotland is fast becoming one of our favourite places to visit. The first weeks of our trip were spent at the Scandanavian Village in Aviemore, golfing, touring castles and distilleries, and generally just travelling the byways.

- This is an absolutely delightful country and everyone is so friendly. Language was a barrier, but we quickly learned "proper" English. Driving took patience and it took nearly an hour to go 15 miles due to the curvy narrow roads. The sunset came early, which was nice for long leisurely evenings. There were more sheep than people and beautiful photo shots everywhere.
