- From cathedrals to confections, Milan is a big city with a lot to do...although, unlike many of the other famous Italian cities, I feel that it's easy to consolidate this city's main sites.

- Milan calls to you like a siren's song that is hard to resist. She draws you with elegant and outrageously expensive high-fashion boutiques, the world's largest Gothic cathedral, the celebrated La Scala opera house, a royal palace, art-filled private mansions.

- Cheap airfares directed us to Milan and we squeezed in Venice. I'm now addicted to gelati and my feet still ache -- walked ourselves silly. Milan was a bit confusing, but it has a big city attitude with proud, fashion conscious locals. And the food . . . hmm!

- The capitol of italian fashion, fast cars and suspiciously small and high-pitched dogs
won't fail to make a lasting impression - even when drowning in the everlasting downpour of november rains.

- Milan is a rather intriguing mix: part old world grandeur, part bustling showcase for modern day commerce such as fashion, textiles, and home furnishings. This city has a certain feel about it that makes you believe the weather simply ought to be overcast all the time (and it often is). We were in Milan for two days in October, 2001.

- Don't make the mistake of overlooking this wonderful city when visiting Italy. But make sure arm yourself with a good guide book, a big appetite and an even bigger wallet. Not because of sky high prices (prices are cheaper here than the rest of Europe and USA), but because the selection of restaurants & shops is irresistable!

- Fashion-that's what most people think of when Milano is mentioned. Well, it's a big city, grey most of the time, but with many sights worth seeing. Two days is just enough to soak it all in.

- Milan has fashion but lacks practical sense.
