Our family of four took a road trip from Green Bay to the Shanty Creek Lodges in Bellaire, MI. There was something to do for everyone, including golf, a private beach, indoor and outdoor pools, and disc golf. The Michigan sunsets were stunning from our balcony.

We walked into the unit and were shocked as to how dirty the unit was. Mold & mildew on the refrigerator. Very old & dirty appliances, spots all over the dining/living room rug. Rainy with temps 60 for the second week of August almost as disappointing as the unit's condition.

We stayed at RCI resort #2074 in Bellaire.

We were disappointed with these accommodations. Our unit was under 600 sq. ft., it was over a retail store, and we had a view of the back of a ski lift. There were NO amenities!

This is our favorite place for a ski vacation and it's only a four-hour drive from our home. With views of Torch Lake and Bellaire Lake, the sunsets are spectacular. The skiing at Schuss and Shanty Creek gives you a variety of slopes for downhill skiers.

This is a review of the Shanty Creek Vacation resort. As far as I can tell there are three properties that together make up the mountain resort--Shanty Creek and Vacation Clubs I and II. This is a year round resort with winter ski and summer golf as primary activities.

If you are living in the midwest, upper Michigan is a great destination and in driving distance.

During the off-season, there isn't much to do in the immediate area, so be prepared to relax and enjoy your unit! If you feel like a short drive, it's not far to Traverse City!
