- Celebrating the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial trail celebration and stopped off at the Fish Creek House Bed-and-breakfast, outside of Whitehall, Montana, about 20 miles from Butte.

- Bozeman is short drive from Bridger Bowl and Big Sky, two top-notch ski areas. Rooms and meals are much less expensive than at the resorts.

- We took interstate 90 the first leg of our 'northern' adventure to reach Canada from the USA. Butte was our first night stop. I checked out places to stay with the help of the internet looking up 'lodging in MT. This is also in the Triple AAA book.
