- More rugged and open than the forested west side of Glacier, the stark, exposed landscapes of the east side capture the essence of this park.

- Vast and wild, Glacier’s rough beauty enthralled me and has me hankering to return.

- Montana - aka Big Sky Country - and WOW, is it ever! High, sharp-peaked mountains, flat valleys, uncrowded roads, and in the northwest, a National Park. Is it worth the long trip to see it? In a word, YES (if you're at all inspired by nature that is).

- Although getting to Glacier may take some extra effort, the majestic mountain scenery is certainly worth the trip.

- Alpine lakes, mountain switchbacks, beautiful hikes. Our family spent four days here just touching the surface of this beautiful place.

- The Glacier N/P 2003 Fires coincided with our highly anticipated vacation. While expecting to see the spectacular grandeur that Glacier is known for, we instead saw history in the making. Travel with us as we experience a natural occurrence, one that revitalizes a forest, but plays havoc with a holiday.

- Our week in Glacier started with driving and hiking off the Going-to-the-Sun Road. We then branched out into other areas of the park and even into Canada to Waterton.

- Glacier National Park has some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen in my life. If you like mountains and wild life this is the place for you.

- After hearing reports of 3 women killed while camping near Yosemite, I shelved plans to go backpacking alone in Glacier and signed up for a 6-day guided backpacking tour. The advantages to this ended up outweighing the disadvantages, but there were definitely tradeoffs and often painful compromises involved.
