Of course there are many winter activities available in the Rockies, but who'd guess there's so much to do in the summer! All our family, ages 5-55, had a fabulous time. Hiking, hotsprings, boating, mine tours and shopping all within an hour of driving from Silvercreek Resort.

The Mountainside at SilverCreek was very comfortable, especially with the family-size hot tub in the room. Horseback riding at Sombrero Ranch was a nice experience. We toured the Argo gold mine and panned for gold (my husband actually found some flecks to bring home). Touring Historic Georgetown a must.

A fantastic small ski resort. The Mountainside at SilverCreek (Sol Vista) is a ski-in/ski-out condo - just a short walk through the parking lot to the slopes. Amazingly uncrowded and fast lift lines. Very inexpensive for a ski trip.

Great accommodations within reach of mainstream Colorado, but definitely off the beaten path.
