- We spent 4 days on Paros in October, 2005. Although it was at the end of the season, most shops and restaurants were still open. Paros is a great island to relax and enjoy the local sights as well as taking day trips by ferry to nearby islands. While on Paros we made day trips to Naxos and Antiparos. There are many fine, small hotels within walking distance from the ferry landing in the port city of Parikia. There are other smaller ports and fishing villages to explore, and picturesque "white" villages in the interior mountains. A car is a must to see the entire island, and there are plenty of local rental agencies in Parikia. We rented a car from Loukis at the Paros Airport (Loukis1@otenet.gr), and it was much cheaper than the rates quoted by Hertz. We spent a half-day trip via a short ferry ride to the nearby island of Antiparos. One time connected to Paros via a land bridge, Antiparos has two port towns and many fine sandy beaches. A highlight of any visit to Antiparos is the limestone cave that is open for you to explore. Another full-day trip from Paros via the ferry is the island of Naxos. The ferry lands in the port town of Hora, and make sure you spend some time walking through the busy market streets before heading into the mountain towns.

- I stopped off on Paros en route to Mykonos and found little to entertain at the beginning of October. With high season over, not much was going on here and I only stayed for 1 night.

- This is a "typical Greek Village" that was built in 2000.
It is nicely located in a fairly quiet location with easy access to the convenient bus system, and it has a grocery store nearby. The beach is only a few blocks away, with a couple of nice restaurants.

- We loved Greece! Paros was fantastic. We visited several islands and the mainland. Friendly people, good food, and breathtaking sights. Lovely little tavernas all over Paros. Nice little shop near the timeshare for breakfast and snack supplies. Georgia, the manager, was great. We definitely want to go back to Greece.

- Like many who make the effort to stop here, I was surprised and pleased to discover an island with plenty of wide open space, unspoilt coastline and beaches, a growing number of activities operators and events, along with villages, churches and sites to explore.

- We stayed in the sleepy village of Drios on the island of Paros. We did not know how far off the beaten path it was, but when it was all over, it was the highlight of our trip to Greece. Then we visited the busy town of Noussa for a contrast in Parikian towns, both in culture as well as geographically.
