- Many readers will be familiar with the Edinburgh Arts Festival. However, the Scottish capital is not the only city in the UK to have a strong interest in the arts. The City of Brighton & Hove holds its own arts festival every May, and it is well worth a visit.

- I spend quite a bit of time in Brighton on business. In later journals I will talk about the history of the city, and its arts festival, but on this trip I only had time for some Christmas shopping. I've also included profiles of some of my regular restaurant haunts.

- Brighton's pubs are a fantastic mix of traditional and modern. And terrible ones that rely on tourists/Londoners. Some advice:
- Avoid West Street on a weekend.

- Not the usual pub with over-the-top decor, since the pub was once a church. Staff are quite intimidating with a slight punch of rudeness along with your drinks. I was asked to show ID for a cup of coffee and I'm 40! Wouldn't suggest this place for a relaxing drink.

- The coastal city of Brighton told by a 21 year old guy trying to find himself and ultimately happiness, I will tell you about Brighton through my eyes. This maybe isn't Disneyland, but through the good and the bad (or the ROUGH), I finally did find myself and complete happiness.
