Another impromptu trip that brought some thrilling firsts for both of us. Eye-popping orchids to fun-loving elephants, soft-as-cloud pashmina shawls to langorous silk wraps, brilliant lacquerware to Saa paper factories. All lie north of the city of Chiang Mai and are easily accessed by tuk-tuk or tour bus.
