Get away from the city life and see how the "real" Texans live. The history of Texas is alive in the hill country where ranches dot the landscape and small towns are rich in historical buildings. Fredericksburg is a shining star in the Hill Country.

My grandparents came from this part of Texas, so I thought we'd go check it out. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found.

We are attracted by the old world charm, the chance to escape from the stress of city life in these scenic, rolling, central Texas hills. Over the last dozen years, the area has almost developed too much; but, then again, there are an increased number of better restaurants and B&Bs.
