We took our first family "road trip" to the Hill Country for four nights of good old Texas fun. We visited Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio and Barton Creek Resort in Austin with a stop in Fredericksburg along the way.

My son and I decided to run down to San Antonio for a last-minute Maynard Ferguson concert. Limited to sites that would not make my daughter jealous, we enjoyed the "boring" parts of San Antonio.

San Antonio is the home of the Alamo, the beautiful Riverwalk, seven Spanish Missions, Fiesta Texas-Six Flags, SeaWorld- and the NBA Spurs. It is a tourist and convention town with over 8 million visitors each year. Where do all these people stay?
