- This is a great getaway with lots to do, from boating on the lake to activities for the kids at the resort. Shopping is only minutes away. A car is a definite must. There is indoor/outdoor mini-golf, a large pool, and a Jacuzzi. Accommodations are up-to-date and clean. The staff is exceptional.

- This was a terrible place to go off-season. There was little to do and few things were open. The pool and whirlpool were small and cold. No bikes were available as promised, and the weight room was a joke.

- Last April, we went to Sunrise Cove at Village West in Spirit Lake, IA. It was very nice. There were lots of activities and the children's pool was a huge plus. It was too cold for us to use the beach, but I'm sure it would be great in the summertime.

- We took a "weekly special" vacation to nearby Spirit Lake, Iowa. Sure it snowed recently, but the warm weather later that week melted everything and allowed us to bicycle and golf in short sleeves.

- In June 2002, we decided to have a family reunion in Iowa. Family traveled from Minnesota, South Dakota, and Florida. Spirit Lake is an hour Southeast of Sioux Falls, SD and was a beautiful location.
