- Two of my customers are in Berkeley, and it's not surprising. I had been here before, but never went beyond University Avenue. This time, we were able to enjoy more of Berkeley.

- The stereotype of Berkeley is of a radical, liberal town and campus, full of demonstrations and tie-dye. But Berkeley is much more. Berkeley has great shopping -- vintage clothing and funky stores -- as well as eclectic ethic restaurants. Great opportunities for hiking exist close by.

- Having rediscovered what a great city Berkeley is when visiting with a chef friend, I resolved to return more often. Ethnic restaurants, beautiful tree-lined streets with lovely old houses, and the ambience of the academic environment all add up to a vibrant place.
