- I have a big map of the United States on my wall with pins marking each of the places I have visited. One of the areas that was blank was Kentucky. So, I packed my bags and spent a few days in this chicken-loving state.

- I'm from Louisville and my parents (and the rest of my very cool family) still live there. I go home often to visit. At the end of August I was able to escape NY for almost three weeks and relax back in the Bluegrass.

- Churchill Downs is the home of the Kentucky Derby. Definitely should be on everyone's life's to-do list. The history runs deep here and the place is steeped in tradition. Sip a mint juleip, bid on some ponies and enjoy the day in beautiful Kentucky.
