Talking to college students from all over the country made us realize how much spring break means to them. John D Rockefeller spent his retirement here and we visited his home.

We just moved to The Villages in Central Florida and we are exploring our new home state. This trip to Ormond Beach was an overnight trip to scope out the beach for future trips.

The Royal Floridian is the best of the beach

We stayed at the Royal Floridian for Thanksgiving. It was perfect. The bedroom whirlpool overlooks the beach and allows pampering with a "view". The staff was very accommodating. Lovely outdoor grounds, large pool, multiple sundecks. The tiki bar was great! Thanks to Steve, the bartender, a nice guy who brings your drinks to you while sun lounging. I loved this place!

Even though the hurricaine had just hit the beaches one week earlier, everyone had worked hard to make tourist trips enjoyable. Some roofs were damaged and signs blown down, but the main concern of this beach was to take care of you.
