- We exchanged our timeshare for a one-bedroom unit at Vacation Village at Jiminy Peak in the Berkshires. We usually prefer the mountains in winter since we're skiers, but summertime is delightful.

- The Berkshires are economical and accessible for family skiing in the spring. We skied four days on four hills and only spent $86 per person on lift tickets. Great deals, great hills and a beautiful area.

- We traded a two bedroom winter Cape week for a two bedroom summer week here about two years in advance.

- Jiminy Peak "Mountain Resort." Over the past decade or so Jiminy Peak has made an amazing transformation from a bump on the face of the earth (which it still really is) with little or no amenities to and full on resort community.

- Two-bedroom unit was a little smaller than anticipated, but it was very nice. Slopes Were smaller than we are accustomed to, but nice as well.

- Not a Wal-Mart in sight - what a relief! We spend a short week exploring the Berkshires before heading back to a new school year. We enjoyed the arts, the old Main Streets in nearby towns, and lazy mornings savoring the peaceful beauty of these lovely western Massachusetts hills.

- This vacation had a lot more to offer than we expected, large rooms, lots of amenities, an amusement park nearby (Six Flags New England).

- Vacation Village in The Berkshires is located in Hancock, Massachusetts. This resort is rated Gold Crown, and it is up to the standards associated with the best Gold Crown resorts. The resort has many activities, both for adults and children. The unit that we stayed in was brand-new, and hardly anything had been used in the room.
