We drove from Wisconsin to our weeklong destination of Fairfield Bay, AR. The resort was set in its namesake town and was beautifully arranged in the foothills of the Ozarks. The view from our condo was impressive and serene, as were the activities available on-site.

When I heard that we were going to Arkansas for a spring break trip, I was furious. I was 13 years old and thinking of how everyone else in my class would come back with tans from the beach and I would come back with crops from a field.

It is a dying community. There are few to no shops open, although advertised with a grocery store on site, it closed down. We had to drive 30 miles to a decent grocery store. Decent meaning with edible fruits and meats. I would not recommend this resort.

Had a great time at Fairfield Bay. Staff was great. Lots to do at the Resort, but not much outside unless you're willing to drive a while. Spent a week in the sun with hubby and the kids.

A great place to get away from the city. Plenty of outdoor activities. Greers Ferry Lake has fishing, boating, tubing, and jetskiing. Two golf courses and plenty of activities for the family, including horseback riding. Friendly people made it a quiet yet busy time and a great week with the family.

A rural Arkansas adventure -- fine foods, fine views, resting, reading, and relaxing.
