Fox River Resort is a terrific family holiday resort with many options on-site, and it's a short drive to Chicago and its suburbs with quality shopping and entertainment opportunities.

We stayed here to be close to Chicago for a Beatles convention. We had a great time. It was perfect. We went into Chicago 4 out of the 7 days. The other 3 days, we had the perfect amount of relaxation and fun back at the resort.

This is a beautiful, secluded getaway in central Illinois along the Fox River. It is close to parks and about a 45-minute drive to the Chicago suburbs.

The amenities offered at the resort are nice. However, while the units looked very well-kept and comfortable, if you are on the lower 2 levels, you will hear every squeak of the bed and floor, the running water of the jacuzzi, sink and toilet from the unit above.

The abundance of things to see and do around this "off the beaten path" resort.

Our family wanted to go somewhere we could drive to. We decided to go horseback riding and go to the casino boats in Chicago.

Silver Leaf Resort at Sheridan, IL, turned out to be a resort we really enjoyed. Most of the attractions were a short distance away, but all were worth the drive. The resort itself was nice, not as nice as some, but certainly a good resort.

A very pretty place, offering camping as well as the resort units, was a good home base to travel the area.

Silverleaf's Fox River Resort was not at all as expected from the resort on-site amenities described. Overall, it was a very disappointing vacation, the second of two from a Silverleaf resort.
