It has been awhile before realizing my first foray to Australia Outback. The aridness, barren land, aboriginal cultures and of course the reddish expanse of landscape were the reasons beckon me there. My trip covered MacDonnell Ranges, renowned Ayers Rock, some meteorite craters and desert landforms along the way.

If you need gas on the way between Alice Springs and Tennants Creek then this is a good place to stop, for the experience more than the facilities.

Kings Canyon has a big wow factor and is basically a mini Grand Canyon. Take a walk (hard or easy) or watch the sunset from your car, whatever you do, it's pretty impressive.

The people of Alpurrurulam are indigenous, shy, and wonderful people. They are artists and storytellers and take a while to trust you. They are very talented with their hands but are not really street smart as they are very isolated.

We went through the desert on a rough, one-lane bull dust road to get to Alpururrlum, the aboriginal community that we were going to stay on with friends for a week. It was a desolate and beautiful land.
