Narrowboating in Wales

Fantastic opportunity to travel through Wales SLOWLY (5mph). HIGH utilities fee--89 GBP (about $190)--plus optional ins (39GBP, or $80). Troubles with heating/hot water. But views, peacefulness, people, and sights were great. Excellent "tuition" by Blackwater staff. It's not too difficult to learn to steer, moor, etc. Highly recommended.

Shropshire enjoys tourists from England but very few from overseas. This is presumably because it lacks coast and really high mountains. However it has some fine hills in the Clee Hills, Wenlock Edge, the High Mynd and Stippestones and also lovely towns, particularly Bridgenorth, Ludlow, Church Stretton and Bishop's Castle.
