Kid- AND adult-friendly! Let's face it, zoos can be hit-or-miss as far as fun goes, yet this one is well-done! Animals are in natural-looking environments, and it's clean, with plenty of shade and rest stops. There is more inside.

During the Spring and Summer walk to view the spectacular fires. Music is playing and food is available. If you are in the Providence area when a water fire is planned it's a must to see.

One chilly day in February, my boyfriend and I traipsed around Providence. At first, it seemed to me a city of echoes -- I felt the hills of San Francisco, and the Colonial quaintness of Boston -- yet quickly realized it has a character all its own.
