- New to the area, I want a guide of all the festivals in the large, but easily traversed city. I'm starting off with the special events, free no less, for business and leisure travelers.

- I’d heard mostly negatives things about Phoenix, mainly that it’s a fairly soulless city comprising indistinguishable malls that sprawl into the desert. On a recent business trip I found that most of what I had heard rang true, but I found some solace in the local cuisine.

- When my daughter and two grandchildren, ages 5 and 9, visited Phoenix over spring break 2005, we looked for ways to entertain the kids without spending a lot. Here's what we came up with. Your kids might enjoy these things, too.

- We took off from Phoenix airport in a rental car, hoping to explore as much as we could of Arizona without experiencing driver's fatigue. Our hubs were Flagstaff and Sedona, and we made daytrips from there. This allowed for a little more relaxation than your average road trip.

- I LOVE Arizona! It might get up to 110 degrees in the summer, but it's the rest of the year, when it's 60 degrees in January, that really keeps me here! I'm also an eater, and I'll give you some great restaurant tips!
